1348 Ex Voto is a third-person action-adventure game set in a 14th-century, historically-inspired Italy during a period of plague, banditry, and political collapse. Players control Aeta, a young noblewoman training to become a knight, who sets out across a ravaged Italian peninsula after her village is raided by bandits, searching for her missing friend Bianca. The game world spans medieval villages, castles, mountain landscapes, and the ruins of classical Rome.
Combat is sword-based and draws on real Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) technique, built on performance-capture animation. Players switch between one-handed and two-handed weapon stances, unlock new combo techniques via collectible skill books, and customize weapon parts and loadouts. Exploration elements include searching for collectible trinkets and treasures scattered across the map.
The Gold Edition is a physical retail release distributed by Meridiem Games, published digitally by Dear Villagers and developed by Sedleo. In addition to the base game, it includes a special case/sleeve, a physical artbook, and a cloth patch.
