American Hero is a full-motion video game first made for the Atari Jaguar CD and never released at the time; it has since been restored and completed. It parodies 1980s Hollywood action films: you play Jack, a former intelligence officer who must stop the virologist Krueger from releasing a mind-control virus into the Los Angeles water supply.
The game plays like an interactive movie in which your choices decide which scenes follow, with multiple paths and endings. This version adds new game logic and newly recorded voiceover from the original lead actor, Timothy Bottoms. It is single-player and English only.
The Limited Run Games Collector's Edition (Switch Limited Run #151) includes the physical game for Nintendo Switch, an 18 x 24 inch poster, a keychain and an American Hero float pen.
