Dynasty Warriors: Origins is Koei Tecmo's reboot of the long-running musou hack-and-slash franchise, following a nameless hero rising to prominence during the chaotic fall of the Han dynasty. Compared to previous entries, it focuses the story on a single created protagonist rather than a large cast, weaving them into pivotal Three Kingdoms era battles.
The game refines the series' large-scale, one-against-thousands combat with a more grounded, tactical structure, deeper officer relationships (Officer Bonds), and battlefield strategy layered on top of the classic satisfying crowd-clearing action.
