Hollow Knight is a 2D metroidvania set beneath the fallen kingdom of Hallownest, a vast, decaying insect civilization buried under the ruined town of Dirtmouth. Players guide a small, silent knight who descends into the kingdom's tunnels, ruins, and wastes, piecing together the story of a plague that consumed its people and the royal family that tried to contain it.
Exploration and combat are built around a single weapon, the nail, and a growing set of spells and charms found throughout the world. Hallownest is fully interconnected with no fast travel required to progress, and the game favors player-driven discovery over hand-holding, with more than 130 enemy types and upwards of 30 boss encounters of varying difficulty.
This physical PlayStation 4 release, published by Fangamer, includes the base game together with its four free content updates - Hidden Dreams, The Grimm Troupe, Lifeblood, and Godmaster - matching the content found in the Voidheart Edition.
