Kamiwaza: Way of the Thief is a remaster of Acquire's cult PS2 stealth game, from the studio behind Tenchu and Way of the Samurai, and its first official release in English. You play Ebisu, a young thief in Edo-period Japan who follows a code of stealing only from the corrupt rich and giving back to the poor. Sneak through mansions and shops, stay out of guards' sight, and use quick-hand techniques to lift several items in one fluid combo for bigger rewards. The loot can fund the people of your district, rebuild your reputation, or unlock new skills. Several story paths lead to different endings as Ebisu looks into the city's crooked officials. The remaster updates the visuals while keeping the original's handcrafted level design and timing-based theft system.
