Persona 5 Royal follows a high school student forced to transfer to Tokyo on probation after a false accusation. After awakening to a mysterious power, he and a growing group of classmates become the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, sneaking into the Metaverse to infiltrate the twisted "Palaces" of corrupt adults and steal the distorted desires at their core.
Gameplay blends turn-based combat against Shadows using summoned Personas with a social simulation layer, where players balance schoolwork, part-time jobs and Confidant relationships that grant abilities to use both in and out of battle.
This release builds on the original Persona 5 with an expanded story, the additional party member Kasumi Yoshizawa, the explorable Kichijoji district, extra music, and a fully playable third semester, running natively on PlayStation 5.
