Valor Mortis is a single-player, first-person soulslike from One More Level, the studio behind the Ghostrunner series. You play as William, a soldier of Napoleon's Grande Armée who rises from a battlefield grave in an alternate 19th-century Europe ravaged by a mysterious plague, reborn with its corrupting power.
Combat is built around parries, dashes and finishers across a range of weapons, combined with supernatural abilities and enhanced attacks fuelled by the plague's energy. Levels take inspiration from Metroidvania design, with shortcuts and environmental secrets to uncover, and each death is a chance to grow stronger.
