Bayonetta 3 brings back the Umbra Witch Bayonetta, who faces a new threat: the Homunculi, man-made bioweapons attacking across multiple realities. She is joined by Viola, a new playable character.
The game uses the series' fast action combat built on combos, dodges and Witch Time, a slow-motion counter. With Demon Masquerade, Bayonetta can summon Infernal Demons and control them directly in battle. An optional Naive Angel mode covers up more revealing scenes.
