Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus follows Bo, a spirit descended from the Celestial Realm to fulfill an ancient ritual in a mysterious world drawn from Japanese folklore and mythology. The journey takes Bo through varied, myth-inspired locations, including haunted castles and lantern-lit cities, populated by a cast of characters delivered with a lighthearted, tongue-in-cheek tone.
Developed by Squid Shock Studios and published by Humble Games, this is a hand-drawn 2.5D side-scrolling action-platformer with light Metroidvania elements. Its central mechanic lets Bo reset his jump by striking enemies or objects, enabling players to chain strikes and jumps into fluid aerial combos to cross the environment and take on demanding platforming sections. Brewed teas unlock new forms for Bo's staff, such as the Mochi Mallet, Lotus Dash, and Grappling Gun, while collectible Daruma doll allies can be summoned for extra abilities, all building toward challenging boss fights against creatures pulled from Japanese folklore.
