Double Kick Heroes mixes rhythm action with arcade shooting. A heavy-metal band drives a weaponised Cadillac called the Gundillac across a highway full of zombies, mutants and odd bosses. You tap out drum beats in time with the music, and each hit fires the car's guns, so keeping the rhythm keeps you alive. The game was built by French indie studio Headbang Club and has more than 30 original metal tracks across genres from thrash to doom. There is a Story Mode with a pixel-art road-trip plot, plus an Arcade Mode, Hellgate Mode for experts, and a level editor for making your own stages. Difficulty settings work for beginners and veterans, and the Joy-Con layout suits handheld play. This physical Switch edition comes from Red Art Games.
