FZ: Formation Z is a full remake of Granzella's 1985 arcade shoot-'em-up Formation Z, in which a lone pilot commands a transforming attack craft against a mechanized alien formation threatening a distant frontier world.
The remake rebuilds the original's vertical-scrolling arcade action with modern HD visuals and remastered audio while staying faithful to its scoring system and stage structure. The ship's signature transformation mechanic lets players switch between configurations mid-battle, each offering a different firing pattern suited to the oncoming wave of enemies.
Published by City Connection as part of its ongoing arcade-preservation lineup, this release marks Formation Z's first appearance on a modern home console.
