In the year 1999, humanity's only defense against the invading Space Demon Empire is Geppy-X, a transforming robot piloted by a rotating trio of specialists. Framed like a lost episode of classic anime television, the story unfolds through complete cold opens, mid-episode eyecatches, and next-episode previews, capturing the tone of a genuine 1970s mecha broadcast. Midway through the campaign the team even receives a mid-season upgrade in the form of the more powerful Geppy-XX.
Geppy-X is a side-scrolling shoot-em-up built around switching in real time between three combat forms: a balanced all-rounder, a fast and evasive mobility form, and a slow, heavy-hitting brawler. Players weave between these modes to dodge enemy fire and dismantle waves of Space Demon forces, with the original PS1-era design intact alongside modern conveniences like rewind, rapid fire, and quick save.
This release pairs the original 1998 game with the new Super Boosted mode, an arranged version rebuilt from re-digitized master materials with restored 24-frames-per-second animation, a rescored soundtrack, and the original Japanese voice cast. Unlockable extras include a boss rush mode and alternate scenario content.
