Mario and Luigi set sail across the fractured archipelago of Concordia, a world of scattered islands that once formed a single land before a mysterious force tore it apart. Guided by the sentient lighthouse Connie, the brothers travel from island to island reconnecting them to a central hub while uncovering the cause of the great split.
Combat blends the series' signature timing-based jump and hammer attacks with new Battle Plug abilities that let Mario and Luigi combo their moves in fresh ways, while overworld exploration introduces electrified terrain, item-fetching sidequests, and a cast of new island inhabitants to help along the way.
