Dr. Wily has unearthed an old, unstable invention of Dr. Light's called the Double Gear system, using it to supercharge his latest lineup of Robot Masters. To stand a chance, Mega Man must master the very same technology and take the fight to Wily's fortress once again.
The Double Gear system lets players boost Mega Man's speed or power in real time, adding a fresh tactical layer to the series' classic side-scrolling action: platforming through eight Robot Master stages, defeating bosses to steal their weapons, and using those weapons against the next boss's weakness.
This is the PS4 release of Capcom's 2018 revival of the mainline Mega Man series, rendered in a modernized 2.5D art style while keeping the punishing, precise platforming the franchise is known for.
