Nine Sols is a hand-drawn 2D action-platformer from Taiwanese studio Red Candle Games, set in a "Taopunk" world called New Kunlun that blends Taoist philosophy with cyberpunk technology. Players control Yi, a betrayed former ruler seeking revenge against the nine Sols who abandoned him to die, fighting through Sekiro-inspired deflection combat that rewards precise parries over button-mashing.
Alongside sword strikes and a bow for ranged attacks, Yi can dash, wall-run, and grapple through New Kunlun's interconnected regions, gradually unlocking new abilities and Taoist talismans as the story of the Solarians' fall unfolds.
