The Nintendo Switch 2 is Nintendo's next-generation hybrid console, built around a custom Nvidia processor with an 8-core ARM CPU and Ampere-based GPU for a major leap over the original Switch. It features a larger 7.9-inch 1080p LCD display with HDR10 and up to 120Hz refresh rate, 256GB of built-in storage, and support for microSD Express cards for expandable memory. The console plays both Nintendo Switch 2 and original Nintendo Switch game cards, keeping the extensive existing library playable on the new hardware.
It ships with the redesigned Joy-Con 2 controllers, which attach to the console magnetically and can also be used individually as a mouse in supported titles. The updated dock supports up to 4K output with HDR when docked, while the console itself outputs 1080p in handheld and tabletop modes. With Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, and a 5,220mAh internal battery, the Switch 2 keeps the flexible handheld/tabletop/docked format that defined the original Switch while significantly boosting performance and visual fidelity.
