The Axis Unseen is a heavy metal horror action game from Nate Purkeypile, a former lead level designer on Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76. Set across a sprawling open world several times larger than Skyrim, the game casts players as a hunter tracking folklore creatures drawn from myth and legend, from the Wendigo to the Jersey Devil, through dense forests and hidden valleys.
Players use a bow enhanced with elemental arrow types, along with heightened senses that let them see tracks, scent trails, and sounds left behind by their prey. Exploration is driven by tracking mechanics rather than waypoints, rewarding careful observation of the environment, all set to an original heavy metal soundtrack that reacts to the tension of the hunt.
