Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree is a 2D isometric roguelite action-adventure developed by Brownies Inc. and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. Set in Shinju Village, the story follows the "Prayer Children," young warriors tasked with defending the village's sacred tree from Magatsu, an evil deity, and its followers who seek to destroy it.
Players choose two guardians from a roster of eight distinct characters, including Rekka, a fire-wielding fighter, Nishiki, a devout koi fish, and Bampuku, a loyal canine companion, and lead them through arena-by-arena battles. Victories grant buffs that strengthen abilities and weapons, while a signature "sacrifice" mechanic ties risk and reward together with light town-management elements between runs.
